Fishing

Our part of Northwestern Ontario, Canada on the shores of Lake of the Woods and Crow (Kakagi) Lake with many other surrounding waterways offer some of the most productive and diverse fresh water fishing you will find anywhere in the world. Walleye, northern pike, muskie, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, lake trout, perch, crappie, and whitefish are all here in good numbers as well as trophy sizes in all categories.

Very few areas can offer anglers the opportunity to catch a few walleye, perch or crappie, pull into a quiet rock point and cook the gourmet shore lunch over an open fire. After lunch you still have time in the day to jump back in the boat, run up the shoreline and fish for giant northern pike, bass or muskie all within minutes of one another.

The winter hard water season offers anglers many different opportunities. With close to half our area in Northwestern Ontario being water in the form of hundreds of lakes both large and small, the winter freeze allows access to unlimited fishing and snowmobiling. Load up the in the snowmobile or ATV and head east off Crow Lake up to 30 miles to access a dozen remote trout lakes or head west for a short ride and fish Sabaskong Bay or Whitefish Bay on Lake of the Woods where trophy crappie, walleye, jumbo perch and northern pike are caught all winter long. If you do not have a snowmobile or ATV there are area ice roads that you can will lead you to the community fishing holes. (Ice roads usually open after Jan. 1st)

We are blessed with the knowledge of 4 generations of Hanson’s being on these waterways, which make our guides some of the most experienced fishermen in the entire area. Weather you are just getting into angling or just enjoy the freedom and quality that comes along with a fully guided trip, we can accommodate any type of fishing trip you can imagine!

Many of our anglers want to target one or two species during their stay with us, others try to fit as many species as possible to add them to the bucket list. Weather you are a seasoned angler or novice, want a fully guided trip or do-it-yourself vacation, we can help you have a great trip all four seasons of the year.
